Thoughts on podcasts

I've been listening to a lot of podcasts lately. Some of the ones I listen to are:

Dave Ramsey (about an hour of his daily radio show...really like it)

Suze Orman tv show (comes on weekly on Saturdays, the entire video is podcast)

Dan Miller 48 Days (weekly podcast about pursuing or creating the job of your dreams)

Also a few Focus on the Family podcasts.

Probably the most inspiring for me at this point is Dan Miller.

He has a blog, too, and something that struck me that he wrote was that sometimes you have to do things you loved as a child in order to find your passion.

So far I remember I loved to write. I started out with stories, and that evolved into essays (really blogs before there were blogs) and poetry. I also liked Legos, and playing with animals.

What did you like to do when you were younger? Does it relate to what you do now? To my family: what else did I enjoy when younger?

  1. Yay for starting a blog!

When I was younger...I used to love playing with animals also and would pretend to be a vet. But when I grew up and realized I'd have to be around blood to do that job, I decided against it. I also loved to play "teacher" and I do still enjoy teaching, but not formally. I look forward to having kids so that I can hopefully teach them a lot! Especially math...

  2. I have a picture of you "playing nurse" complete with goofy green-glasses-frames and an upside-down nurse's hat...

  3. You loved board games (but hated to lose) and jigsaw puzzles. You loved rocks, the pretty ones. You loved sleep (still do), but hated going to bed at bed time. You loved trying to do anything your big brother was doing. And you loved cheese.

For myself, I have loved history and travel as long as I can remember. I used to write from time to tome (and had a big and active imagination), but didn't "discover" writing until an adult. We share that love of writing. And a love for God and things spiritual.

Good blessings on sharing with us your thoughts.
